Rooted in observation
My work moves between the tangible and the poetic, guided by observation and a sensitivity to light and detail. I’m drawn to the quiet moments that often go unnoticed, the in-between, the subtle, the real.
I create images that feel honest and grounded, shaped by what unfolds rather than what is forced. Not to impress, but to reveal something true.
Based in the Netherlands, I run my own studio. I collaborate with individuals and brands who value depth, simplicity and authenticity.
About
From a young age, I’ve been drawn to the details most people pass by. Small things, such as a certain light, a shift in atmosphere, something that quietly stands out without asking for attention. I’ve never felt at home in speed or excess. I’m more interested in what’s already there, waiting to be seen.
Through photography, I try to hold on to those moments. Not to freeze them, but to give them space: to make something you can return to, something that stays with you. My work is not about creating more, but about noticing what already exists. Because in the end, it’s often the smallest, quietest moments that feel the most real.
BACKGROUND
What is your background?
My background is rooted in visual arts, photography and visual communication.
I studied at Luca School of Arts, where I completed a Master in Photography and a Master of Art Education. These studies shaped my conceptual way of thinking and my artistic approach to image-making.

Exhibitions & Recognition
My work has been exhibited internationally and has received recognition within both artistic and photographic contexts. I was selected as a GUP FRESH EYES Talent and PhotoTWENS Talent in 2021, and received the MUNKEN-ID Award for my photographic work.
My images have been shown at art fairs, photography festivals and exhibition spaces across Belgium and the Netherlands, including ART Rotterdam, Haute Photographie Amsterdam and the Biennale de Photographie in Condroz. Other exhibitions include presentations at CCHA in Hasselt, HAL 5 in Leuven and The Faculty Club in Leuven.
Through these exhibitions, my work has been positioned within contemporary photography, moving between artistic research, visual storytelling and conceptual image-making.

Ik nam contact op met Esméralda voor de foto’s van mijn eindwerk. Het hele traject verliep vlot en zeer professioneel. Esméralda is naast een super toffe goedlachse dame ook een geweldige fotograaf.
Tijdens de shoot werkte ze met veel zorg en oog voor detail. Er werd vervolgens een uitgebereide reeks aan beelden aangeleverd, waaruit je een selectie maakt en die je vervolgens afgewerkt terug ontvangt.
De foto's van studio Esméralda Emanuela geven kracht aan mijn ontwerp! Dankjewel!

Tijdens een van de eerste weken dat onze dochter is geboren hebben wij een newbornshoot laten maken. De stijl van de foto’s zijn heel puur en Esméralda weet precies welke momenten en details mooi zijn om vast te leggen. Wij zijn enorm dankbaar dat zij in bij ons aan huis is geweest om dit vast te leggen.
Kristel houtappels
Esméralda heeft mij en mijn paarden vastgelegd in een business shoot voor mijn bedrijf in paardenmassage. Dieren gaan uiteraard hun eigen gang en het was heerlijk chaotisch. Ik vind het bewonderenswaardig dat zij precies die kleine momentjes van rust en verbinding heeft weten te vangen en ik ben dan ook heel blij met het resultaat! Esmeralda werkt snel en professioneel en is heel communicatief. Een aanrader dus!

Esméralda heeft mij samen met mijn paard gefotografeerd. Toen ik de beelden zag kreeg ik gewoon spontaan tranen in mijn ogen van geluk. Echt prachtige beelden zijn het geworden.

Voor de website van Dafeïne heeft Esméralda de huisstijl bepaald.
In de gesprekken met haar heeft zij zo de dingen geïnterpreteerd wat resulteert in een presentatie van diverse huisstijlen waarbij 1 de boventoon voerde.
Zij weet als geen ander, kleur, materiaal, stijl, vormgeving en jou persoonlijkheid te vertalen in ontwerpen die voorlang tijd mee gaan. Mijn gevoel wat ik had over mijn bedrijf heeft zij vertaalt in een prachtig design. Ik ben er heel blij mee!

Esméralda heeft de omslag voor mijn eerste boek ontworpen. Ik ben er uitermate tevreden mee. Ze bracht goede ideeën naar de tafel en heeft het geheel een professioneel uiterlijk gegeven. Zeer geslaagd!
